Think of them as like a counter or thermometer, as they can go in any direction and can be altered in several ways, and when they reach certain levels can trigger other stuff (so max pregnancy commodity = birth, etc.). If you plan on future bigger projects I'd say to scrap MC and learn by hand now, otherwise you can use MC for small projects.Ĭommodities are a statistic, they are the motives you see in the needs panel as well as other hidden features, like fame or pregnancy. It's also what KS used, that's why nothing is named uniquely. Last I checked you can't use MC to add the appearance modifier, you'd have to make the base buff then edit in S4S to add the rest of it (and we're not allowed to help with MC here anyhow). There are tutorials here aimed at tuning objects-changing the stats of an object or how a sim interacts with an object-that may or may not help. Are you looking to change animations? Change the textures? Mess with the scripts? Or is it XML tuning? I'm not sure how/if you can do XML tuning with this mod and it looks like Zero's tutorial is about XML tuning. pyc file.and that's as far as I can get you with that, I'm afraid.Īgain, if you can be more specific in what it is you want to do, that'll provide a starting point. The mod contains scripts and that is waaaay beyond my skill set, but I can tell you that if you want to open the ts4script files just change the file extension to "zip." The file will then turn into an archive and you can open it with 7-zip or WinRar, etc. Better to keep the resources and just make some changes to them. Deleting resources is not a good idea because the mod has scripts that tie back to the resource, if the mod needs a resource and it's not there, then the sun will explode and all your descendants will be born with three heads. What is it exactly that you're wanting to do? It sounds to me that it's the textures you want to change? In that case, you'll want to replace the texture with your own, custom-made, image file. Mizoreyukii discussed it a little here: /thread/22406/loot-mean-xml and if I understand correctly, loot is a command that the game recieves that triggers certain things like moods or upgrades in a sim's skill or a sim's needs. Here is a list of TS4 moodlets: /wiki/List_of_Moodlets_(The_Sims_4)Ĭommodities are a sim's needs such as hunger, sleep, etc. I'll give it a shot but I'm not sure how much help I'll be.Ī buff is a moodlet and the terms, I believe, are interchangeable. TL DR: I'd really like to make a mod that puts skin details on my Sims when certain moods are triggered, but I'm not sure where to start. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to figure it out once I get going, but if until then someone could offer me some advice that would be so great! Would this be achievable in Zerbu's Mod Constructor? Because that's what I've been trying to use. I know that I need to add an appearance modifier in there somewhere and link the skin details I'd like applied, but I literally am so lost as to which direction to start. I still don't quite understand the difference between a lot of the terms-loot, buff, commodity, etc. That's why I decided to try and figure out how to replicate this feature on my own! I've read a lot of tutorials, specifically Zer0's on patreon, but I'm not 100% which tutorial I should be following. I've tried to pick apart the mod and just delete the skincare resources, but it's pretty difficult to tell what's what as nothing is named uniquely. I think the skincare feature is super cool, but I'm really just interested in the emotional overlays. However, in KawaiiStacie's mod, while she does give the option to pick and chose a lot of what you want, the skincare and emotional overlays are inseparable. tears when sad, blush when embarrassed, dark circles when exhausted, etc. There are a few features in KawaiiStacie's Slice of Life mod that I absolutely love, particularly the overlays that Sims get during certain buffs, i.e. Hi everyone! I'm not sure if this is the right place, but if someone could be so kind as to direct me to where I need to go I would greatly appreciate it.
